ABOUT Klangkuenstler

Nationality: German
Genre: Electronic, Techno

Born Michael Korb on June 17, 1990, in Füssen, Bavaria, Klangkuenstler has emerged as a prominent figure in the techno scene. His journey from a small Bavarian town to the pulsating heart of Berlin’s electronic music landscape showcases his dedication and passion for techno.
With a relentless sound that blurs the lines between industrial, hard techno, and raw underground energy, Klangkuenstler has risen to become one of the most exciting and respected names in Berlin’s ever-evolving techno scene.

His name, which translates to “Sound Artist”, is a fitting description of his production style, high-intensity, dark, hypnotic, and absolutely relentless. His music is built for warehouse raves, cavernous clubs, and massive festival stages, where the bass reverberates through every inch of your body.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Klangkuenstler has managed to carve out his own distinct sonic identity, taking inspiration from early 90s rave culture, industrial influences, and Berlin’s legendary underground techno movement. His tracks are raw, energetic, and designed for peak-time chaos on the dancefloor.

Klangkuenstler: Germany’s Techno Innovator

Klangkuenstler, born Michael Korb, started his musical journey in 2008 in the small town of Füssen, Bavaria. His early productions were more in the vein of deep house and tech house, heavily inspired by artists like Solomun and Maceo Plex.

However, after moving to Berlin in 2012, he became immersed in the city’s dark, industrial techno sound, which led him to completely reinvent his music. By 2016, his productions had taken a drastic turn towards harder, more uncompromising techno beats, incorporating elements of rave, EBM, and industrial music.

His breakthrough moment came with the release of “Cathedral of Saw” in 2019, a massive, sawtooth-laden anthem that became a staple in peak-time techno sets worldwide. From that point on, he established himself as a serious force in the underground scene, with support from heavyweights like Dax J, Kobosil, and Amelie Lens.

Realizing that he needed full creative control over his work, Klangkuenstler launched his own label, Outworld, in 2019, providing a home for his no-compromise, high-intensity vision of techno. His label releases include tracks such as “Die Welt Brennt” and “Disdain”, which further pushed his signature sound fast, hypnotic, and incredibly powerful.

Now, he’s leading a new wave of hard techno artists, proving that rave culture is alive and stronger than ever.

Klangkuenstler’s Live Sets and Stage Presence

A Klangkuenstler set is not just a DJ performance, it’s a full-on sonic assault.

His live sets are known for their relentless energy, seamlessly blending hard techno, industrial beats, and early rave influences into a hypnotic and exhilarating experience. Unlike many DJs who rely on long, gradual transitions, his style is sharp, dynamic, and highly aggressive, keeping the crowd locked into a constant state of movement.

One of his defining characteristics is his ability to create a highly immersive atmosphere through dark, dystopian visuals and relentless, pounding rhythms. There are no breaks, no filler tracks just pure, unfiltered techno madness.

With his unapologetically raw productions, masterful mixing skills, and relentless energy, he has carved out a unique space in the hard techno landscape, leading the charge for a new generation of ravers.

If you’re looking for polished, radio-friendly techno, Klangkuenstler is NOT your guy. But if you crave dark, hypnotic, mind-melting beats that transport you straight into a Berghain-level state of euphoria, then this is the artist to watch.
